I have been reading make up blogs for about a year and a half now, and I have noticed that one of the
most raved about beauty products is the BB cream. Beauty bloggers, specifically in Asia, swear by the
cream and have great things to say about it!Now, after having read so much about this BB cream, I got inquisitive and decided to find out more
about this miracle product.
This is what I found on WIKIPIDEA :-
BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm, Blemish Base or Beblesh Balm, is a cosmetic item sold mainly
in East and Southeast Asia.Originally formulated in Germany it was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients
protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne
and other blemishes.BB creams come in a variety of different formulations and qualities. Some are said to have skinwhitening or brightening properties. Others are said to be anti-acne or anti-wrinkle, some are intendedto even out skin tone, and yet others to lighten blemish scars. BB creams are sometimes used like a
primer under foundation, and if tinted may supposedly replace foundation and some newer ones are
advertised as having functions of primer, foundation, moisturizer, sun block, pore minimization and skin
refining together, making them an economic skin care solution. As one of Asia’s biggest beauty sensations, B.B. cream—short for “blemish balm” or “beauty balm”—
is truly an all-in-one skincare wonder. Their lightweight, multitasking formulas provide SPF sunscreen
protection and work to moisturize, conceal, and treat skin in just one simple step. The silky, tinted
lotions effortlessly blend with your natural tone, minimize the need for concealer and foundation,
camouflage lines and imperfections, and serve as a skin-perfecting primer. With just one swipe, skin is
left looking smooth, glowing, and natural.
As always, we Indians were deprived of this product for quite some time. But finally, and thankfully,Maybelline decided to launch the BB cream in India. The Maybelline version of BB cream is called

backside of the Maybelline BB Cream tube.
As soon as the product was launched in India, I could not wait to get my hands on it since I’d heard so
much about it. The product comes in 3 shades:
01 Nude
02 Radiance
03 Natural
Places you can purchase this BB cream:
I headed out to my local beauty joint to purchase the product within 2-3 weeks of its launch, and
fortunately enough, they had it. They had just the first 2 shades, i.e., Nude and Radiance. I tested both
of them and Nude seemed to be a right match for my wheatish skin tone. I was so happy to have finally
bought this product and that a brand had decided that it was high time for BB creams to be available in
India. I have noticed that the product is also available in:-
Pantaloons
Shoppers Stop
A few online beauty stores.
Maybelline has quite a wide distribution range and it’s been a month since the product’s launch, so I am
pretty sure it will be available in most of the beauty joints in India.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The Maybelline BB Cream comes in a small aqua green color tube with a twist cap and a nozzle
applicator. I think the packaging is quite sturdy and compact and very travel friendly. The nozzle
applicator makes it quite easy to squeeze out the desired amount of the product and therefore
avoid wastage. The texture of the product is neither too thick nor too runny. It falls somewhere in between. Thetexture is perfect for blending purposes. Its light-weight and water based. As I have mentioned
earlier, the product comes in 3 shades. It provides a sheer to medium coverage. It makes the skin look brighter and does a fairly good
job at covering up light scars, blemishes and uneven skin tone. But don’t expect it to cover deep
scars and marks. For that you would need a foundation.A pea-sized amount of the product is just about enough for the face. I apply it exactly the way
the Maybelline sales girl demonstrated. I squeeze out a pea sized amount on my palm, dot it all
over my face and then blend it with my fingers.
PROS:
It evens out the complexion and your skin does look brighter and radiant without leaving a
whitish cast.
It does not make my skin greasy or oily even after 3-4 hours of application which is really
impressive, considering I have combination skin. However, it’s difficult to predict whether it
will not make my skin greasy during summers. As far as winters is concerned, it suits my skin
perfectly.
For those who love the dewy look, this is just the product for you.
It provides a sheer coverage, so it’s quite apt for daily use as a make up base.
The smell is quite pleasing and not too strong.
Easy, hassle free application.
Easily available.
It’s quite hydrating for normal, dry and combination skin.
Contains SPF 21.
CONS:
I find the product a tad bit expensive for the amount. 18ml of this product will last me hardly 24-
25 days.
Limited shade selection. I would have preferred if they had a couple of more shades. However,
the 3 shades that they do have are specifically suited for Indian women and most will find a
match from among the 3 shades.
Contains parabens.
CONCLUSION:
So, overall, this product is really good. It’s perfect for regular use in order to get that healthy glow.
Since it gives a sheer to medium coverage, I think applying concealer in the under eye region
and over other marks and blemishes, followed by the BB cream, will give best results.
•I would suggest dry and combination skin women to use a moisturizer before applying the BB
cream. It does have a tendency of drying the skin when applied. The oily skin ladies out there
can give the moisturizer a miss.
•The product seems to be quite mild and has caused no reaction with my skin.
Its India’s first BB cream and it surely does not disappoint! This product is giving some serious
competition to my Ponds tinted moisturizer, which I simply adore! 😛 I would definitely recommend this
product and I suggest you go out there and get one for yourself!!
RATING: I will give the Maybelline BB cream a 4 on 5

is any one there to ans me
its disappointing. it tends to give a ghoulish look, plus it gave me scaly itches and bumps on my otherwise healthy skin. looks like my world was perfect, unless i came by this product and decided to give it a shot. lakme perfect radiance is WAYYYY better than this.
