We’ve all been there at some point in life. We stayed up too late, watching something of YouTube or went out for a gig on a weeknight and really regretted it in the morning, are standing in front of the closet but have a fashion block and can’t think of any outfit ideas or maybe the weather was just too gloomy so you hit snooze three times and now you’ve only got half an hour to get ready for work or your morning lectures.
Being lazy doesn’t mean you show up looking like a slob. Panicking and throwing on the first thing you find, will not only make you look slobby, it’ll most likely also make you feel self conscious throughout the day. A few minutes spent on your outfit in the morning can help you salvage your entire day.
Here are three outfit ideas for those mornings when you just can’t get out of bed on time to do your usual morning routine.
-
Shirt + jeans + belt:
Investing in a casual shirt is the best thing you can do for your wardrobe. It can be styled in a number of ways and is a piece that every girl must have in her everyday wardrobe. Throw on a flannel or cotton shirt along with your pair of fitted jeans (you can wear trousers if your work attire is formal), and a belt. Adding a belt to your outfit can pull the entire look together and make it seem like you’ve put a lot more effort into your outfit than you actually have. Tuck in the front on your shirt, this will make your outfit look stylish and well thought out.
-
Dress + statement scarf:
A dress is the easiest way to look stylish without putting too much effort into it. Invest in dresses in solid color rather than print, because prints keep going in and out of fashion, whereas solid colors are eternal. It is also easy to pull off both casual as well as formal looks with dresses in solid colors. Style your dress with a statement scarf with funky prints for a fun college outfit or add a pair of statement earrings or a necklace for work. If you live in a cool climate you can add a fitted blazer or jacket to the outfit.
-
Basic white or black t-shirt + any bottoms:
A basic black and white tee is another wise wardrobe investment. The number of outfits one can create with these two pieces is just unreal. You can wear them with jeans, trousers, skirts, shorts and any other bottoms you can think of. For a college look wear a basic black or white tee with a denim skirt. Loosely tuck it in for a more put together look. Pair this outfit with white sneakers. For a work look, pair your basic tee with a pair of fitted trousers. Throw on a tailored blazer and a layered necklace. Pair this outfit with a nude pair of pumps.
