I have always had a passion for home decor. It’s always a good idea to collect vintage/eclectic pieces from different places as decorating the room at once is impossible.
Today, i thought of sharing the little corner in my room. There are 4 slots in this shelf with two medium sized drawers. This corner is dedicated to my notebooks, jewellery display, bags, sunglasses and so on. I usually store my small sling bags or sunglasses here.
Ready to play dress up? Whenever i decide to wear a particular necklace/ jewellery piece for the same or next day, i usually keep it here. At times, i love layering the mannequin with chunky jewellery.
Here are 5 ways to decorate the little corner in your room:
Lighten up:
Lamps or decorative lights are known to not only brighten up the room when it’s dark but they also help to make your room look better. Buy a lamp from an old furniture store and give it a makeover! You can either spray paint it, doodle or paint on it with glitter. Get creative!
Rest in peace:
What’s the best way to end a long & tiring day? Yes, relaxing in a little corner, sipping on some tea & flipping through a book. Store your books in a small shelf. Add little details like a pair of glittery stilettos, necklace or scented candles in between the books (Be careful, don’t burn the house down!). Back in school, I remember creating a make-shift shelf by using old encyclopedia books.Buy a comfortable couch from Chor Bazaar or any furniture market and revamp it using spray paint. If you don’t have enough space, a foldable mini chair should do the job!
Stay Positive:
Surround yourself with the things you like, be it inspirational quotes, photos or a new pair of shoes.
Plant happiness:
Little plants/flowers are one of the best ways to add a charming element to your room. Bonsai plants are easier to maintain and are perfect for smaller rooms.
Print explosion:
Mix & match with prints and colours. For example, a couch with damask prints and a neon shelf might instantly make your room look brighter. Choose the colour scheme wisely!
