Ever wondered why we look our best when we do? It happens when our eyes have their share of solace! No wonder all that make up doesn’t add value to your beautiful face if you didn’t sleep soundly the previous night. Our eyes say a lot about us; and let’s make sure they always share good stories whilst we look into the eyes of our dear ones. Scroll down to know how to cherish the apple of your eye with some tips on how to get rid of dark circles!
1. Early to Bed Early to Rise:
The fundamental rule! You need about 7-9 hours of sleep in a day at a stretch. If and when you fail to have your quota of full night of shut-eye, develop a habit to have a power nap for 15-20 minutes in the middle of the day. This will instantly rejuvenate your eyes and add sparkle to your eyes as well as your mind.
2. Detoxify:
Include Leafy vegetables, deeply coloured fruits and plenty of water in your diet to flush out toxins and get naturally glowing skin. It also stops fluid formation underneath your lower lash line which leads to puffy eyes.
3. Let Your Ring Finger Go Circular:
Massage your eyes with the eye-cream containing retinol (animal form of vitamin A), vitamin K or vitamin E. The right eye cream reduces puffiness and discoloration around the eyes.
4. Never Say No to Sunscreen:
Take a pledge to wear sunscreen every day once you are out of shower even if it is cloudy, rainy or foggy. It also protects your skin from steamy heat when you work in kitchen at home.
5. Don’t Strain Your Eyes:
Do you feel your eyes strain while you are on the laptop or watching your favourite soap? Better get your eyes checked by an optometrist and follow instructions accordingly. One of the major reasons for eyes looking drained is our reluctance to get our eyes checked at periodic intervals.
6. Balance Your Diet:
Sometimes folic-acid deficiency also elicits skin darkening under eye. Consult your dietician and include dietary supplements along your meals if required.
7. Remove Makeup (Mascara, Liner or Kohl):
Gently wipe them off before you wish good night to all. Personal hygiene is the key to a healthy body.
8. Cleanliness:
When itching occurs wash your eyes with cold water. When you continuously rub your eyes, the under eye skin goes a shade darker because of the friction.
9. Meditate:
Our soul is reflected in our eyes. Meditate for 10 minutes and rub your palms until they go warm and place them over your eyelids to soothe your eyes. The magic will be there for you to see.
10. Quick Home Therapy:
- Don’t miss out on placing finely sliced Potatoes/Cucumbers over eyes every night for complete eye rejuvenation after a hard day at work or play.
- Damp cotton in milk and spread on eyes twice a week.
