Clearly, I am no diamond expert. However, when I was invited for the Forevermark Diamond Masterclass, I was excited & intrigued at the same time. No doubt, diamonds are a girl’s best friend (or that’s what we have been told) but what goes behind the making of such valuable sparkly objects? This is exactly what the Masterclass was all about!
Diamonds were first discovered in India more than 4000 years ago & have been treasured ever since. In the 19th century, diamonds became popular among the rich due to it’s high value & status symbol. They have definitely come a long way ever since & have carved a special place in every woman’s heart or rather jewellery box.
At the event, I got a chance to learn about how diamonds are made & also why they’re considered to be so special. I was told that Diamonds are classified by the famous Four Cs – Colour, Clarity, Cut & Carat . When it comes to Forevermark, each diamond undergoes a journey of rigorous selection. Less than one per cent of the world’s diamonds are worthy of the Forevermark inscription. Not just that, each Forevermark diamond is inscribed with an individual number as an assurance that it has met their standards of beauty & rarity. The inscription is only visible under a special viewer & not to the naked eye.
Forevermark also believes in sourcing diamonds responsibly i.e the diamonds come from conflict-free zones in order to maintain an ethical & transparent relationship with the customers. Overall, I am glad I attended this event as I had so much information to take bring home. It’s always nice to learn new things!
You know why diamonds are so special? Because just like human beings, diamonds have their own personality i.e no two diamonds will ever be the same 🙂
