What you see on social media is not always 100 % True. Not everyone is happy all the time, trust me! Difficult situations is what makes you who you’re today.

I wanted to share some things I learned in 2017. Things I did to cleanse my soul from negativity!

1. Let go

Early last year I had a very difficult time letting go of people who filled my life with negativity. It almost felt like I was in a gloomy cloud. On one hand you considered this person to be close to you but on the other hand, you were also aware that this individual doesn’t have any positive impact in your life. Hence, I made a conscious decision to “Let go”. It was very difficult and mentally draining  to do that but I did and it was totally worth it!

I strongly believe in the concept of surrounding yourself with people who inspire and push you to be a stronger / better person. Anyone who drains you isn’t worth your time. Invest your energy in people who enrich your life with good thoughts

2. Self-love

I have never loved my body as much as I have loved it in 2017. Yes, I have loved my body throughout my life but I have never ever loved / admired or taken care of it to this extent.

If you follow me on any of the social media platforms, you might be aware that I have been working out for the past 6 months. By working out, I mean not just Zumba but I have also started hitting the gym. This has completely changed the way I see my body. It’s not just about losing weight but also feeling better both mentally and physically. Working out instantly uplifts my mood and makes my day so much better. I am so happy I took this step because it changed my life for good.

3. My Parents

2015-2017 were the years when I traveled a lot. I mean a LOT. I am so grateful to get all the opportunities at such a young age. However, I barely spent any time with my parents because all I did was work.

At times I seldom forget that my parents are growing old with me. It’s a sad fact. This reminded me that I need to spend more time with them irrespective of my schedule. Even if it means just eating dinner with them every night. Cherish every moment!

I hope you enjoyed reading this brief post on my 2017 lessons. What did you learn last year? Tell me in the comment’s section!
