Photography is one thing I have always been passionate about. Did you know? If it weren’t for blogging, I might have definitely pursued a career in photography. This is the main reason why I got so stoked about my recent collaboration with Canon. I got a chance to try the Canon EOS 1300D out and decided to share my views on it with you. I used the camera for a few days and got quite comfortable with it quickly.
While I was walking past a tiny lane, I couldn’t resist myself from clicking the beautiful bougainvillea that draped the walls. I used the EOS 1300D and the Canon EF-S18–55 mm kit lens to click these images. I also tried the EF-S55-250mm lens which is perfect for capturing candid photos at events or even for wildlife photography.
I liked how lightweight the camera felt. As someone who travels quite often, I always am on the lookout for cameras that don’t weigh me down yet click amazing photos. Not just that, the inbuilt WiFi & NFC helps you to instantly transfer the images from the camera to you smartphone so that you can upload images on-the-go to all your favourite social media pages. This vital feature is extremely useful for bloggers / travellers.

The custom white balance setting on the camera helps you to provide a correct colour balance to the image. I found the Auto White Balance ‘White’ mode extremely useful for times when you want to capture pure whites, even with indoor or party lighting.
FROM DAWN TO DUSK
I even tried to click some images late in the evening. As it’s monsoon, it gets gloomy quite fast so I had to set my ISO anywhere between 800- 1,600 and the images came out quite clear and without any noise. If you’re a photographer, you need to be ready for anything any time. It might rain, get dark or gloomy but if you have a good camera in place and are aware of the right settings, clicking great photos wouldn’t be a problem.
Overall, the EOS 1300D is a great camera for both ambitious photographers & professionals. It is compact, lightweight & great for someone who travels a lot. As seen above, you can click stunning landscape images and portraits at ease. If natural light isn’t good, just tweak the settings and you’re good to go! If you plan to get your first camera, I would high recommend this model.
