There are various types of hair removals & i have tried almost all of them. Being an Indian woman can sometimes be amazing & difficult at the same time. On one side, we’re blessed with luscious thick hair on the head & on the other side our body hair never seems to stop growing thicker.

The first time i experienced the wrath of thick body hair was during my teenage years. As a 14 year old, i was never allowed to visit the salon (other than for haircuts) or was allowed to shave my legs. It was quite a struggle as my body hair started to show up during that time (Thanks puberty!) Being in my 20s now is much easier as i have access to products that will make hair removal simpler.

One of the hair removal methods that i was always hesitant to try was shaving. The main reason would be because of the ever so well-known issue – Ingrown hair.

So today i thought of busting some myths about shaving + how you can get smooth legs for days.

  1. Before you get ready to shave, wear comfortable clothing. It can be a bathrobe or  an old pair of t-shirt & shorts.

2. To avoid ingrown hair, exfoliate your skin before you shave. Use a gentle exfoliator to avoid any type of rashes. I personally prefer using an exfoliating glove in the shower.

3. Apply the Gillette Satin care Shave gel on wet skin. The bright blue gel lathers up easily so all you need is one or two pumps of the product.

4. Use the Gillette Venus Razor for a smooth shave. Shave with the grain & not against the hair growth to avoid any type of bumps. Wash it off & Voila!

Psst..apply Aloe vera gel after you shave. It helps to calm your skin down!
