What do you get when you mix Hobbit houses & Goa ? Yab Yum resort. When i entered the resort, that’s exactly what it reminded me of. Wonder how we found this resort? Well..The good folks at Tripzuki, a website featuring handpicked boutique hotels in India invited us to stay at Yab Yum for a few days. We were welcomed by the lush green trees, the chirping birds, sounds of insects and warm sand under our toes.
Once we checked-in, we were greeted with a much-needed drink. The Goa heat had taken a toll on both of us. While we were waiting for our room, i was quite curious about how our ‘Suite Pod’ would look like. The suite looked like it was straight out of a movie. The view was breathtaking to say the least. It had a drawing room, 2 separate bedrooms, a bathroom and a private sit-out area with the magnificent view of the beach. The sit out area had a hammock and a table with a few chairs. After having a blast at Baga, we were at Yab Yum to unwind and indulge in some homely food. Speaking of food, the Breakfast was delicious! But the only thing you have to watch out for are the ants. They’re hyper-active little living organisms that might attack your food anytime. Considering Yab Yum is a eco-friendly resort, you can expect other friendly visitors like frogs to appear in the night.
When we got our room, the only thing i was scared of was the heat. Surprisingly, the heat didn’t bother us in the suite pod although it didn’t have an Air conditioner! The resort also has a cafe that serves delicious homely food. The best part about the staying here was that the beach was just a stone’s throw away from us.
Overall, Yab Yum resort is a fun place to stay if you like living right next to the sea. The unique pods definitely makes it stand out from other resorts. If you like what you see, you can book a Pod for yourself on Tripzuki. They’re also available on Facebook HERE
