Like heartbreaks, split-ends are inevitable. You can ignore them but they will find a way to appear in your hair and your life. Yes, regular trims help but what about when you’re trying to avoid your hairstylist? Let’s agree that some of us who are trying to grow our hair out do our best to stay far away from the Hair salon. Irrespective of whether our favourite haistylist insists us on getting our hair chopped or not, our stubborn little souls don’t want to budge!

Here are 3 ways you can make your hair look less damaged without visiting the hair dresser:

GO OLD SCHOOL

Remember the time when our moms used to oil our hair before going to school? I still think of how thick my hair was as a child. It was so strong & unbreakable! It was somewhere during my teen years where i totally forgot the good old tradition. Lately, i have been wanting to start using coconut oil again. I have noticed an incredible difference when i apply oil as it makes my hair glossy and it also looks healthier.

Here’s a tip – To make split ends appear less harsh, apply a tiny bit of castor oil to the ends and keep it for 20 minutes before you wash it off.

OR You can also try the Matrix Biolage Olive oil to condition your hair from root to tip.

MIND YOUR HEAT TOOLS

Hair is like clay and you can mould it the way you want with hair tools. I recently received an amazing straightener (that i mentioned about on my Snapchat) & like any other girl who is excited about a new hair tool, i have been using it far too often lately. On a positive note, i am trying to control my habits as the damage is quite visible. So i have learnt my lesson and i hope you do too!

USE A HEAVY-DUTY SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

I am not joking when i say concentrate more on the conditioner than the shampoo. That’s because conditioner hydrates your hair. I am one of those people who keeps changing my shampoo and conditioner as once my hair gets used a certain product, it stops showing results. Hence, i keep switching it and trying out new ones. Lately, i have been using the Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrasource Hydrating shampoo & conditioner. Honestly, i was quite surprised when i used it for the first time. This duo shows instant results! As you might be aware, i have naturally curly hair and it’s quite a task to tame it. However, the combination of good conditioner and a leave-in helps to maintain my beast like hair. The trick is to keep the conditioner in your hair for a longer time i.e around 5-8 minutes. Like our body, our hair can also get dehydrated. Usually when my face feels dry, i use Aloe Vera gel as it instantly makes my skin soft. The Matrix shampoo & conditioner also contains Aloe-Vera which is a non-stop source of Hydration.

I usually wash my hair once every 2 to 3 days as it becomes oily. Long hair means finishing off an entire bottle of shampoo in a few weeks. With the Matrix shampoo, i feel that i just require a little quantity to get rid of the oily scalp. You can also use a dry shampoo from time to time to avoid greasy mane as well.
