Heels are a part & parcel of almost every young women’s life. We have a love-hate relationship with them. Love – As it makes us look taller & our legs longer. Hate – As it’s painful! What if wearing heels felt like you’re walking on clouds? This is where Airpufs , a company started by Chai Yong, a former flight attendant for Singapore Airlines  & an avid shoe collector comes into picture. What is this product all about? Insoles made using a patented, ultra shock absorbent foam that can tame even the most stubbornly painful heels.

When Chai contacted me with a link to her website, I was intrigued by the colourful prints & patterns this product was available in. From Pineapple to Cactus, Airpufs is available a variety of playful prints. I received the product in 12 days (as it was shipped from Singapore). I decided to put these insoles to test!

EXPERIMENT:

I selected one of the most painful heels from my wardrobe. This one was a recent purchase. When I left my house at 11.00 AM for an event, I felt quite comfortable in my heels. At 1.00PM after walking around, I could feel that it slightly started to hurt. You know the moment when you wear heels and you get a terrible pain & you start bending your knees because you can’t bear it? That’s what happened around 2.30 PM post lunch. I couldn’t bear it. The rest is history!

WITH AIRPUFS:

I was quite excited to try this innovative product out. I noticed that Airpufs is very light & doesn’t weigh my shoes down. You can also use it if your heels are a little loose to fit you better.Considering it seemed quite thin compared to regular insoles, I wondered whether it would work. I used it for a month before I did this review so you know exactly what I think about them!

Airpufs are made of porous foam that enables dryness & airflow. I tried wearing heels on one leg & heels with Airpufs on another. After walking around for 30 minutes, I noticed that I started feel some discomfort around the balls of the the feet. While the difference between SHOE 1 & SHOE 2 wasn’t immediate, I could feel the distinction as the time passed by. After 6-7 hours of wearing them, I noticed that the one with Airpufs in it seemed considerably more comfortable. Was it

Magic? I don’t know. Science? Maybe.I wouldn’t say that there is no pain at all when you wear Airpufs, but there is definitely a huge improvement in comfort- I’d say 60% pain reduction when you wear them.

More about Airpufs:

  • Cushions and protects feet from the pain of wearing high heels
  • Stop feet from sliding forward in shoes
  • Keeps your feet cool, dry and comfortable all day
  • Are Antibacterial for clean, fresh shoes
  • Are Removable, try them in different shoes
  • Are One size fits all

According to Chai, you can also wear it with Flats by switching it around so the larger part cushions their heel. Flats are normally very thin soled nowadays; and depending on how you walk, or especially if you stand for long, there can be a lot of pressure and strain on your heels.

Airpufs are also available in various quirky prints. You can check them out HERE
