I received a very touching email from one of my readers. She wrote about how she’s being bullied in high school because of her weight. Bullying someone on their looks is clearly taking the wrong route. I remember reading an article on one of the online publications titled ’11 Bollywood pairs you won’t believe are the same age’. They compared the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bacchan’s post-pregnancy photo with Malaika Arora Khan’s recent photo. Now, that’s a good way to get more views, isn’t it? According to the article, they both are in their 40s but looked so different. The author clearly wanted to state how Malaika had maintained her figure & Aishwarya Rai didn’t really stand a chance in front of  the former’s beautiful body. I even remember commenting on that article with disgust.

In India, most women are curvy. Let’s not deny that! I completely agree with people who say that there’s difference being morbidly obese & curvy. Health is important because if your body gives up on you, you can’t really do much. As much as i love food, i also believe in healthy-living. Whether you’re curvy or skinny, bullying each other on your weight is quite demeaning. Skinny girls have a tough time too. Let’s not play the victim card.

At times, i receive a lot of hate comments about my hair, body or anything at all!  I usually delete them. Why? Not because i  get hurt! I just laugh at it. Let’s face it, i have been blogging for more than 6 years now. If i really cared about hate comments, i would have stopped blogging a long time ago. If someone’s going to hate on you, you ignore it.  When i was younger, especially in my teens, i used to care about what people thought about me. We all went through that ‘phase’. I have come to a place now where if someone bothers me, i just cut them loose because ‘Ain’t nobody got time for that!’

One more thing i learnt is that, the more attention you give to haters, the more they crawl all over you. They’re like little parasites. Snip them off their roots before they grow on you! In the end, it’s your life & you have complete control over it. Shape it the way you want !  Think about it this way, how jobless & full of negativity can a hater be to spend time commenting on you? Be it in real life or online. Don’t let the the environment bother you because you have complete control over your actions.
