As it hits December, my social calendar gets filled up in no-time! And with social events, parties, Christmas celebrations and best of all – the destination weddings around the corner, I know that it is time to glam up and get dolled up for the festive season. Makeup has never been skin-friendly and so, it is best to follow simple hygiene regimes that keeps your skin hydrated and creates lesser damage.

Make-up Remover Is My Best Friend
I am a religious believer in removing my make-up, no matter what time I get back from an event. This regime has helped me have a pimple and acne-free skin as well as keeping it clean. I have been using the Neutrogena Oil-free Make-up Remover and the Cleansing Towelettes which have been skin-friendly and effective.

Increase Your Water Intake
Water is one of the most basic and important part of your meal. The more water you are able to drink, the better your skin will be. It is important to keep your skin hydrated at all times, especially during these festive seasons when you tend to resort to heavy make-up. Make sure to carry your water-bottle at all times! And if you forgot it, get your hands on the Himalayan Mineral Water bottle.

Invest in a Face Scrub & Hydrating Moisturiser
Face-scrubs are the best way to exfoliate your skin and it helps getting rid of those black & white heads as well as dead skin. One could follow up with a light-cream based moisturiser that seeps in quickly and leaves your skin hydrated. I have personally been using the Himalaya Gentle Exfoliating Apricot Scrub & A-Derma Rheacalm Light Soothing Cream and have got the best results.

Carry Your Sheet Masks Everywhere
The new trend of sheet masks has come in as a saviour to all of our faces that need a pep-talk! The quick fix to a fresh and radiant face instead of a facial could be these masks that are affordable, easy to carry around and applicable anywhere and at any time. I am a Sephora loyalist and my favourite one is the coconut face mask that helps nourish and soothe your skin.

Switch to Luke-warm Showers
Steaming hot showers could be very tempting and specially if you are at a cold destination. While bubbling temperatures could be relaxing, it is not such a great idea for your skin. Hot water makes the skin dry and rough, which then worsens with continued and long hours of make-up. So, next time – try and ditch the bubble bath for a lukewarm one and see the wonders that follow!
With these basic skin regimes, I am sure you’ll have a better toned face along with pimple / acne free skin. Now, you can be care-free and sport all the make-up that you want!
